Default Starting issues

I have a 98 Disco. The engine turns over but wont start. I can start it using carb cleaner. (works better than starter spray). Once the engine starts it will run pretty good. After running it, I can stop it and even after two hours it will start ok. After a day though, it wont start. Can anyone help????

Have you replaced the fuel filter?
Have you checked the fuel pressure at the fuel rail when it wont start?

Not much of a mech here, but as often as this thing breaks down, I should be one shortly. I haven't done anything yet. Fuel filter is next and cheapest fix. I spoke to a mech who said that it sounds like a fuel return problem (fuel is returning to the tank instead of staying in the lines, hence the vehicle not getting fuel on startup. I don't want to deal with a fuel pump if I don't have to.

2X on the fuel filter & maybe the pump.......you need a fuel pressure gauge to make a better diagnosis
