Rubbing it in..... The whole point with the port is to tell if the ECM is the issue. Secondly is to see what codes it's popping because it could point to the problem.

So if i have no power to the port then, I guess my ecm is bad. Ill just have to live with that I guess, at least until it craps out.

I'm not following, you put a chain and crank sensor on? Why? I don't put that much time and treasure into something unless I plan on keeping it. The crank sensor alone takes more time than checking the port for 12v or even reseating the ECM connectors..... Ya know? So why are giving up on it?

Suggest you read replies.

Check OBD port for 12vdc on socket 16, ETM says pwr from F 3,
10 A, P128 Satellite Fuse Box 2. Appears fuse also powers audio system.
16 is top left port
......

I put a new timing chain on when I replaced my oil pump, And new crank positioning sensor while I was at it. It's always had the starting problem, I just never really could pin point it till now. So as long as I pull the positive cable off of the battery and put back on it starts right up and runs fine. As far as the obd port thing, I really dont feel like messing with it. It is for off road use only.

Ah, look into a battery switch, no tools on/off.

i am having starting problem too. similar symptoms as to what you have described. I think my problem is the fuel pump or fuel filter because I have no pressure up at the fuel rail (there's a little valve up there - like is on the stems of tires - I press that and no fuel comes out) but yet I have 12 volts at the pump when I turn the key on. I have a pump and filter on order - will let you know if those fix the problem once I have them installed. Hopefully before next week.

notny41, have you tried checking for pressure while cranking the engine? For some reason mine bleeds off after a bit, but while cranking the engine over there is plenty of pressure. not sure if that is normal or not. I just replaced the fuel pump and filter not long ago. I just ended up putting an on off switch on the battery and everything is working fine now.
