Default Steering noise

So today I noticed a chirp when driving. After getting home i investigated a little and found it makes a noise when I turn the wheel either left or right. I checked the power steering fluid and it was full and there are no leaks coming from the steering box. Anybody had this issue?

Sounds like the bearings are getting a bit tired. Mine sounded like an old fax machine Dave @ AB is a good contact.

So I am having some similar issues. I just got home from Afghanistan and went back and ripped the cover off my favorite off-road toy only to find the appearance of a puddle under the engine bay and the steering fluid was empty. After reading through some forums here I refilled the system with some Dex III and PS leak seal, changed the oil, and fired it up. Rear bags inflated normally and I let it run for a little burning the old fuel and replacing it with some fresh. After awhile I am I still hearing a 'whiring' sound at stand-still and more so when I turn the wheel. Is this because of it's time spent without any lube (we all know how no lube can affect the outcome of your night ;-) ) or is my PAS Pump or Steering Box done?

Any help would be great. Not about to bring her in to the shop now, short of being ****ed with a cracked engine block, I can handle this repair on my own I am sure.

Thanks in advance,

ATL

What does the steering feel like when you're driving and try turning?

The steering feels solid and it turns like it always does. The power steering is working its just the noise. I did drain the ps fluid and put in a bottle of the Lucas stop leak then I bleed the system and the sound has gotten a bit quieter but I got a replacement pump coming from Abran on the cheap just in case it decides to go completely.
