'Bearing noise' coming from rear, droning noise?
Hi, I have recently bought a 2001 'y' reg 1.8 petrol freelander hard top. I notice i have a 'droning', kind of bearing noise coming from the rear of the car. This is at its worst when I am travelling between 20-30mph and it is continuous regardless of whether I am accelerating or deccelerating or free wheeling, it is still there at higher speed also i think. This is really beginning to irritate me, please can anyone who has experienced this or knows what the problem is let me know. Thanks Adrian
I had a similar "droning noise" coming from the rear of my freelander aswell. I thought it may be the diff but I renewed the tyres as they were almost illegal and this cured the problem.
the tryes are the most common cause, also worth checking the IRC as well, as when the bearing start to fail it can cause a few problems..
turn up the radio and the sound will go away. that is how i fix my bronco when it rattles. works every time. lol.
