Default stuck in park. .

Hey everyone! Ok so my 97 disco got stuck in park earlier today. This happened to me once before but after about a half hour it randomly started working properly. This isn't the case this time and I'm not sure what to do. Right now I've taken the center trim out, pushed in the solenoid, put the vehicle in neutral so I could move it, and put it back together. Any suggestions on what I should do to fix the issue? I thank everyone in advance for the tips and advice!

It's probably the brake light switch. Jump the two wires on the cargo door glass, push the Rear Defrost button, and you should be able to shift.

Ok, I'll try that out. How do I jump the two wires? Sorry for the lack of know how!

Get a paperclip. Open it up and jam one end into one connector and the other end into the other connector.

Its ridiculous but it works. You jumper them then you press the rear defrost, shift out of park, and release the rear defrost. That will get you rolling, you'll need a new switch to get working brake lights though.
