Default Sunroof tilt function, how does it work?

Hi everyone from Minnesota
I bought a 1999 Disco 1 SD with 98k miles which I give a new makeover. New oil pump, water pump, steering box, ball joints, coil springs, shocks, shock towers, wheels and tires, welding several holes etc. The latest is the repair of the sunroofs. The former owner caulked everything shut, so I’m been scraping everything out and putting in new seals. Motors are shut, got used ones from eBay. I noticed that the sunroof was very slightly tilted so i moved it manually. Now it is in a full tilt and I can’t get it out of the tilt to shut it completely. Does anyone have an idea what triggers the tilt, I’m unable to find anything about the mechanics and functionality.

Found a post suggesting lots of lubrication of the rail, that did the trick. Pretty simple fix…

Question D1 -how to get the parts out from the sunroof rails ?

Hello,

I found in the history from this panel some really interesting methods for repairing broken parts from the sliding mechanism, which is completely hided away in the alu-rails. How can you get this parts out of the rails for inspection and repair ?
That’s the question where I neverwhere don’t find the answer, although very important !
Who can inform me ?

Greetings from Belgium,
PierroDisco
