anyone try the best sylvania halogen - ultra's ? I hear they don't last too long but give off a good white light

 

all the "ultra" series bulbs will list a life hours on them as well as a light output. I have seen some bulbs with a high output and a low hours of life, as well as a working voltage. If the working voltage is 12VDC, they won't last long as most vehicles run at about 14 VDC and the bulbs will burn out prematurely.

 

gotcha - I heard they don't last long - probably not worth it - since OE bulbs last a decade

 

according to google search, ultra last 1,000 hours , and the ultravisions last 150 hours. Suggest checking the packages to verify. Keep in mind when increasing the output of headlights, it is important they are aimed correctly. Blinding oncoming traffic is not a nice thing to do.

 

150 hours is crazy short

 

I've been running Philips X-treme bulbs since 2015. The original set lasted until 2021 and I purchased them again. Definitely not yellow like the stock bulbs, and definitely not on the blue scale. They're middle of the road color wise. I like these bulbs a lot and they're less than $30/set.
