Default T-stat gauge

Hey guys I just replaced my t-stat and it has resolved my overheating issues, it was wedged in there sideways somehow. Now my gauge has completely stopped working, when this happened the first time I just kinda wiggled the wires and it started working. tomorrow im planning on buying an aftermarket gauge. I was wondering if you guys could walk me through the steps to install this it would be a great help.

Without this the ECU will not know the engine temp and your mpg will suck because it will think the engine is cold and will fuel for a cold engine.
A cold engine needs more fuel than a hot one.
