Default terrafirma light duty

hello! first real post... i guess.

after much searching, i havent found any real reviews on this setup. i looked up the factory spring rates, and TF coil rates and i plan on ordering the light duty kit with all terrain shocks. the medium kit is 230lb/in front and 300-340lb/in rear... thats almost as stiff as the race setup on my 5000lb cherokee! the light duty comes in at 200lb/in front and 220lb/in rear, much more tolerable. i dont plan on adding a huge bumper or winch, or really anything besides a roof rack for looks. its my DD/weekend beach machine and it will see some class IV roads and greens/blues at rausch creek 2-3 times a year.

anyone running this setup? i plan on fitting 245/75-16s on factory wheels.

I like my HD OME rides nice with 150 lbs of winch on front and some gear in back, guessing even better once I get a rack

Tf springs must be real super heavy duty

My HD OME rides nice on the road, but on light washes the ride can get quite jolty. Definitely more comfortable then most lifts that I've experienced. I don't have any peripherals like a winch or anything so I can't speak for that. I will be hauling my dads 19 ft boat this summer so we'll see how it fairs then.

TF springs are ridic. i dont have the pages saved here (at work) but the OME HD spring rate were comparable to the TF MDs. TF HDs were something close to the 400lb/in range... thats 3/4 ton truck status. this truck will more than likely never see a winch or even a front bumper, any gear will be minimal (tent, cooler, small tookit, etc). i was gonna go for the LC80 spring swap but since there are absolutely NO bolt in cheap shocks other than disco shocks and the TF kit is under 500 shipped with new shocks i might as well go for it.

edit: stock rate is something like 135 front 150-210 progressive rear... just fyi

I have TF medium on a fully outfitted truck, and it just now feels right. I'd definitely go TF light for your setup.

And yes,
TF Med = OME HD
TF Light = OME Med

And it's true these are 3/4 ton trucks

I went with MD OME springs and +2 TF shocks on my D2. I carry a good amount tools in the rear and have an aftermarket steel rear bumper and sliders, but no front bumper or winch yet. The ride is very nice and handles the modest off-roading I do well. I have sway bar disconnects to install to hopefully take advantage of the +2 shocks soon.

I have the 2in TF HD set up with AT shocks, it gave me a bit over 2in lift. The springs are stiff, I've loaded the back with 20cases of water bottles(35 1/2 lt bottles per case). It didn't move much.

the med duty springs in the back actually give more than 2'' (more like 3)of lift when no extra weight is on, the lights in the front are about 2" maybe 1.5" a slight slant to the front of the vehicle with no load , doesnt look hot-rodish .....just about right
