That thing that surrounds your window
So I have factory tint.. it sucks.. tomorrow I get all of it removed so I can get new tint maybe next month. (25% on the front windows, illegal on the rear two and the far back)
I noticed the molding/gasket/window seal stuff around the two rear windows and far back windows has major cracks and holes in them. What are they called and where can I get some?

Those are the seals/gasket/whatever things I need. Are they window seals from AB?

Yes, those are seals. Mine are cracked up a bit as well. The PO or someone in the past managed to fill most of the voids with some sort of silicone sealant. There are a few cracks/voids that arent filled in mine as well. It's on my "to do" list along with a million other things.. FWIW, the researching that i have done on the job indicates its not all that tough, you just need another person to help get the glass in and out. The alpine windows on the top on the other hand are a royal PITA from what i gather..

i had to pull these when my truck went in for roof paint, and it took maybe 5 minutes (once the alpine window interior panels were removed) to pull them - just get a flat blade screw driver, find where the center groove bit ends, and pry up one end of it. pull it around the window to remove it completely. then the seal should go sort of limp and you can pull the whole mess out.
going back in is simply the reverse of what you just did, and will go quickly with the right tool ($20 at snapon.com, shipping is free). spray some soapy water on the window and the seal, get the whole thing slid into the window opening. then spray soapy water on the groove and the piece that goes into it. feed the harder bit through your snapon tool and just force the whole mess around. helps to have a stool to stand on so youre a little more level with the window.
the first one took me about 15 minutes before i got the hang of the snapon tool, the second was probably more like 5.
not a bad job at all!
ill get that tool part number later, but i know i found it on dweb and the LRO forums when i was researching the job...
