Default To those doing the fuel pump swap

My 30R10 hose failed from a kink. This was an expensive hose at 25 dollars per foot. I can only imaging what a cheapo fuel injection hose would do after a few years. I found a hose similar to the factory at APE (Auto Performance Engineering). It was cheap...I think the p/n is flexhose8. You will need to clamp it on there with standard small hose clamps not the FI type as it is a small diameter. I got the hose clamps at lowes. I returned the gates under warranty and got my money back.

High pressure fuel injection clamps should be used

not normal worm clamps.

You can also buy a E-3270 Airtex pump from Advanced Auto, also a direct plug and play with the benefit of 16 more pounds of pressure for those old tired injectors, for under $80.

Mike, that is the pump i installed. The hose goes from the new pump to the metal barb on the holder up top of the assembly. The fuel injection clamps are too large for the thin hose. It is plastic material and very thin unlike the rubber

I did exactly what you are attempting, and what DiscoMike stated - Airtex pump and all, with no issue at all, 25K miles on that particular fix - happily rolling.
Remembering I replaced the thin plastic hose with a length of 5/16 Fuel Injection hose w/clamps. I think $2.75 more?

Mine included the top of the pump assembly as well. Mine was cracked at the top of the plastic forcing me to get the completed assembly, glad mine was PRE-AEL.

I wonder what condition the fuel injection hose is in. They are not rated fuel complete submersion in fuel. 30R10 hose is the only rubber hose with a fuel submersion rating.

One way to tell is too put a poece of the hose in a clear gas jar and immerse it in fuel. You can readily observe any degradation. Or pull the fp and take a look see.
