Thoughts on fuel pump??
How do our fuel pumps die historically?
Just quit or slow, low pressure death?
Having a starting issue, turns over, cranks, puff.......
turns over, cranks, puff......
turns over, cranks, puff, puff.....
turns over, cranks, puff, puff, puff, puff......
Eventually puff turns into pow and it'll start all day pretty much.
Checked for flow, it's there.....but not high pressure fire hose style.....
My thoughts are fuel pump.
Any assistance appreciated!!

No but seriously, haven't been driving it much and I'm relocating about
1300 miles from where I'm currently typing.....it's not coming with me.
So with key 'on' I have 15lbs at the rail.
Running, I have 19lbs at the rail.
I think I should be over 30lbs, if so it explains the poor starting condition.
Can any one confirm this?
Also, has anyone ever just put an inline pump with'in there fuel line?

I had a dull moment, figured I'd check in!!.....Oh well....

I've since chiselled off my access cover, like soo many others have had to
do in the past after reading a few threads.......
There's NO WAY those connections are coming apart...........and they
aren't the threaded type......
So the question is, inline rail fuel pump........anyone try it????

I haven't had a dull moment since I got back to work, lots of overtime. To make life even more exciting I caught a nice summer cold that's taking forever to get over. I hardly have the energy to enjoy a decent dump and my Boss calls me a girl for owning a Splaturn. He came into the shop to let me know his knees hurt after taking care of the CEO all afternoon (looking to get us raises), I asked him; "Ya wanna buy a Saturn?"
Spritz the connectors with whatever penetrant you choose and let bake for awhile, reapply and go at em. Should pop apart but I've been known to tell a lie. There is a thread someplace around here that tells of using another type of connection if you have to whack the originals off, pun intended. As more peeps get a peep at this thread maybe someone will chime in on that problem.

Yeah, I imagine it would be a huge pain to work with what you have if it's that far gone. I have no experience with inline. Other than the sucking through the pumps original screen I don't see why it wouldn't work if the pressure is high enough.
So is the truck up for sale or already sold?

Inline fuel pump needs to be rated higher than whats expected on the business
end.....so 32-34.....one rated at 45psi is what your after.
Truck isn't sold or for sale yet.......it needs to be running in order for me to
get anything more than scrap value for it.
Why, need a hobby?...
I've been down to see Bob, the little used car dealer who sold it to me test driving a V8 4Runner (holey crap this thing GOES!!) and threatening him with
the fact I'm selling the Rover back to him......lol!!! He just laughs.....told him
it would be 'cheap'.......his reply.....'it BETTER be CHEAP!'.....We'll see, I have
a few weeks to go yet......think I missed out a a true 4X4 van in Virginia I was
going to snag......need to contact that guy today.
I'll follow up on the inline once in hand......
