Default Timing chain cover question

Do I need the gasket or will RTV get the job done after I R/R? Thanks in advance. Forget it, looks like there is no gasket after doing a quick search. Wish I could delete a thread.

Always better to use the gaskets. RTV can make it's way throughout the system and cause troubles you do not need. I make my own gaskets typically, but use factory made gaskets when difficult seals are required. I used Indian head gasket shellack on both sides of my gaskets to insure a better seal.
