Default tiny screw size in shifter surround?

I searched the hardware store today for a match to the one remaining screw holding my shifter surround together with no success matching metric or SAE. back home I measured the diameter and checked it against a 4-40 tap and it appears to be a 6-40 thread. Can anyone verify before I order some off eBay? Leave it to LR to use something uncommon - might explain why there was only one left.

Default screwed?

It would probably be fine with one screw, but I get a little **** about wanting to fix things right if I take them part.

Speaking of fixing things right, the last thing I did tonight was "top up" the transfer case fluid. The fill plug took a two foot breaker bar and my feet against the muffler to break it loose, but the drain plug was hardly even snug. And I pumped at least a quart and a quarter of 80W-90 before it seeped out of the fill hole. I had the rear wheels on ramps so it should hold about two quarts - Right? But there must have been less than a quart in it and maybe only half a quart. Apparently the Yahoos who trashed the solenoid wiring and the position switch and screwed the CDL switch in too far didn't even bother to fill it when they were done. Either that or it has a big leak - I'll have to watch it. Good thing I'd only driven it 500 miles at moderate speeds so far .
