Default TPS Value?

Ideally shouldnt the TPS register 0% when the throttle is closed and the truck is at idle? The lowest value my truck registers when hooked up to my scanner is 9% at idle with the throttle closed.. Any way to re-calibrate things so it reads as it should? Is there an adjustment for the throttle stop?

You could be playing with fire!!!!

I do not know, but there is a little adjustment on the throttle linkages. Or they may need cleaning. Mine was really stiff and got stuck once, causing engine to go full throttle on me. That was fun!!!!

Here Psy, LRD2ME was once a poster then got mad and went away but he figured out some values of the TPS and various other sensors. Try this for a jumping off point.

Oh yeah, he said the potentionmeter was a POS. Not linear. Real junk. But he never got better than about 6-7 MPG from his Disco, so he dumped it in favor of some small Motorcycle.

Wonder if he ever cleaned his MAF?

ROFL

I think it was a combination of frustration with his disco and the pounding he took from others here on the forum. Seems like he never wanted to listen to anyone's advice when he asked questions. I know he's still taking orders on his rollers.

ECU sees it as zero so no need to calibrate. What year Disco? The MAF can be calibrated if you have a 14CUX setup (94/95).

The only thing you can check on the TPS (without Testbook/Rovacom and one other I can't think of) is wether you have a fluid sweep in resistance. If your getting any zero resistance readings it's a flat spot. Flat spots (weak segments) are generally going to occur at or near idle since that is one position that does not change.

LMAO...^^^

If you do a search on throttle position a lot of threads will pop up, you need to take some time to parse it out.
