Default Trailer Wires

My Disco did not have a trailer outlet installed on the receiver and I would like to add one. Somewhere in the manual, it said there was a trailer plug located in the tail light compartment. I looked in there (drivers side) but did not see anything. Was this some sort of "option" that might not have been installed?

if you look behind the passenger side taillight (open the access panel like you were going in there to change a bulb -youll need a phillips screwdriver) youll find a capped off connector floating in there near the floor. the LR trailer harness plugs into that and comes out through the grommet in the floor directly below it

the AB kit plugs into the same spot

The passenger side.... While wondering why I had not thought of looking there is because there is a seat in the way. I have to tenor the seat to get in there? What brainiac designed that?

Nonetheless... I was going to wire this in myself with a kit from walmart. I will look at the vendor sites, but is there a factory part number I can reference?

ah, right... forgot that most folks have seats back there.
i honestly have no idea what that panel looks like when you have the jump seats, as mine doesnt have those.

on mine its very easy accesss, i cant imagine that with the seat folded down it would be much more difficult to get to in your case, but who knows!

if you search there is a write up on how to wire in the walmart adapter to make everything kosher. It might even be in the technical FAQ.

I saw the write-up on how to connect the wires. I was just looking in the wrong place. If there was a LR part that was plug-n-play, I just might go for it.

I know I found an alantic british part that was plug and play. I was at the pull apart and going through a disco that had an adapter that plugged into the land rover round plug in the tail light compartment and then converted it into the standard 4 prong plug that works with most trailers. Its an alantic british part I know for sure

i bought the AB part and it was indeed plug and play. simple install, left their converter box up inside the cab then ran the 4pin plug and its wires outside the truck.
