Default Transmission fluid

I just replaced my radiator with a Nissens and lost a pint or 2 of transmission fluid. Checked forum posts and Dex lll is recommended, but I can only find Dex Vl locally. Ok to use that?

Yes. It's backwards compatible although it's synthetic. I can be mixed with conventional or used 100% without doing any harm.

I found Dexron III at Walmart this afternoon. It actually took a quart to get it back to mid level on the stick while idling. Either the transmission cooler holds more than I thought or more fluid escaped from the open line.

All good! Thanks for the reply!

Funny, I was going to post that Valvoline is one of the main and easiest to find.
