Your welcome, kinda easy from my seat. A bunch of D1 owners are dealing with mushy pedals and have over the years. If the ABS solenoid block doesn’t have a bleed nip then it requires firing the pump and noids by code. I doubt the MC is the problem, it usually locks a caliper or one axle worth with the faulty ones. Good idea forcing the ABS and too bad it didn’t work.

If one wanted to cycle the ABS pump, could you not just apply 12v + ground to the connector (C125 in the ETM)? There are only two wires on that connector, power + ground.

maybe.. I assume I'd have to cycle it and somehow integrate that with brake bleeding... I manually activated the pump 4-5 times on a gravel road but locking up the brakes. I like the iLand.. May pull the trigger on it.. If it just did SRS codes/resets I'd buy in heartbeat

The solenoids require individual energizing along with the pump.

I should get a commission. If it does make gold out of lead let the forum know about it. The ABS can be removed completely but for those who want to keep original and fully functional the ABS needs cycling to get all air and old moisture laden fluid out. Mushy brake pedal is a common compliant. I know you have more use for it with your other Rovers so no problem but for those with one Rover it’s just a wee bit expensive. Calling robertf....
I have an Autel that does diag and service functions but covers all makes, it’s way more expensive than a home mech would need. It covers Rovers too, simple download. I use it at work, friends and my own projects..... it’s the future gotta have.

Got my iLand. Setup was a little clunky but once I got it going it performed well. I was really surprised how much difference the modulator cycling made for the brakes. I knew immediately when doing the manual bleed after cycling the modulator that it had worked b/c of the amount of additional air that was forced out of the system. Brakes much firmer as well.. thanks ihscouts!!!

Thanks for posting the outcome! I recently did the MC in my '94 D1 and am also not impressed with the feel after a couple rounds of bleeding without touching the ABS.

And, thanks to @ihscouts for knowledge sharing on this.

Now I need to figure out how to trigger the ABS without this expensive kit, and without a functioning system (front CVs are HD and lack the rings).
