I'm looking to start a project, the guy is asking 800$ But I'm sure I can talk him down. Well read for yourself.

What do y'all think the issue can be?there is a junk yard nearby where I can get parts and such.

If the engine is running and hasn't seized yet I would bet the oil pressure issue is just instrumentation. For what he's asking I would buy it.

What do you mean by instrumentation?

I'm offering 500$ and see where it goes from there. It would be funny for me to go toe it home with my disco and it to break down. 2 broken discos attached...

bad switch.... easy to test the pressure. Don't drive it home, though. Run it at home and check pressure readings manually. If it has new bearings, I would think new oil pump gears would get it. You would think they would have cleaned the strainer while they had the bottom apart, but you never know.

Buy it and tow it home. You can get $300 for the brush gueard...

I would def take that. Mine allegedly had $3k of work quoted for a massive oil leak. Turned out it was the oil pressure sensor. Replaced it for $30.

Mom? Why? Do you hate your mom or just like visiting to fix things?

Shes one of those people that have a lot of money, but dont really live like it. She is so sick of driving around her huge 1997 gmc 6.5l diesel suburban.
She loves my truck and loves a deal. I wanted to buy it anyway, and probably would have ended up selling it for the money after fixing it. But I plan to do a few more of these cheap discos.

Ours trucks are already projects so why buy another project?
For $500 I'd buy it too.
