I have owned a few rovers and recently found a 99 disco 1 that has been sitting for awhile. The disco has been off the road since 2013 when the owner moved, he said it gets started and driven around the yard once and awhile. The body is in good shape and the vehicle is pretty clean for sitting for so long. One big plus is that there is very minimal surface rust on the frame and the door sills look good, my old discos rusted there from our NY winters. The Rover has 100k miles on it and owner said the head gaskets were done in 03. I know it needs exhaust work, new breaks from sitting, fluid changes and a tune up. I’m just looking at it to be a around town vehicle and build it to be able to wheel it. What do you guys think it would be worth?

Hard to say without seeing photos and knowing more about the history of the truck. As is probably a few grand tops.

it needed a head job at 4yrs old?
I would do a compression test on that first.
I would also be very skeptical as to why a perfectly working disco just sat? I would prepare yourself for a upper half rebuild.

As long as you have a lot of this you'll be fine...…

My short answer is what is it worth to you? Cut that in amount in half and offer $300 less than whatever number you came up with. Seems like a good place to start.

For real though, I would say not more than $1000 and that is only if it runs and there is no outlandish back fees for registration. The way you guys talk about rust all the time makes me appreciate California more. Well...kinda.
