Damn my paint was great!!

 

You seriously wet sand once a year? That seems a bit drastic I would think I'd you waxed it with a cleaner wax ad often as you said, there wouldn't be much need.

 

I offroad my truck all the time, I just like it to look nice when im driving around town, Especially if im paying 4 dollars a gallon i want it to look good while im doing it. LOL i take care of my rig, Besides its not good to leave dirt and crap on paint, If you have good paint now, TAKE care of it!?

 

Yeah I use the DA sander with a 3000 grit 3M pad, mostly just to get the tree branch scratches out. It doesnt take me long to do it, about 1/2 the day and a 6 pack.

Heres the 96 i just bought, I didnt get the roof done yet in the pic but you can definately see where I started and stopped buffing

 

Holy **** dude. That's a crazy difference. Looks great. That's after a 3000 grit wet sand and a buff? WOW? the roof looks terrible comparatively. You really put new life back in that paint.

 

Yeah thats after 3000 and buffing. I dont have any pics now but its even shinier after a couple coats of wax on it too. I tried just buffing it first but the paint was horrible on it, even using a heavier compound it still wouldnt come out nice so I spent the afternoon and got the whole truck done.

 

My truck gets washed and waxed before and after each planned off roading trip. I guess im a bit **** about keeping them clean.

 

Yea you can def bring the paint back to life but wet sanding once a year doesn't leave much clear coat after a few years

 

I just drive thru a deep puddle really fast and POWERWASH it that way.

I knew a used car salesman in Florida that used Miracle Whip Mayo to gbring the life back to a sun faded paint job. Of course he was selling it as fast as possible........

 

I have left over Excalibur Paste Wax and Mother's products from my Porsche 928 and Benz SEL. They work good.
