Passenger heated seat works good. On the driver side, the heating element broke where it goes under the cushion wire (common wear problem). Ok, so I patched it with a jumper wire years ago. I think it was like 18AWG - huge compared to the element wire. I used insulated wire and I added heat shrink tubing to it so it would not conduct to the seat cushion wire. I thought the big wire would heat less, but I got a hot spot there. It actually got hot enough to melt the foam in an area about the size of a shooter marble. So what is the right way to patch the heating element?
