I bought this mirror on eBay with the intent on retrofitting into another vehicle. Was listed as coming from a 96 discovery. I was hoping there'd be some identifying marks on the back that would help me track down some info on it but so far I'm coming up empty! I'm including a few pics of the back of the mirror and back of mounting cover. Can anyone help with some more info on it?
1. There's 5-6 wires in the harness (it's at home so I can update later with actual number and colors). I assume some will power the compass/temp display, some are for the map lights and some are for the temp sensor. which ones do what?
2. need to find a temp sensor
Could it have been a factory option or maybe a dealer add on? I know nothing about Land Rovers. Below is a pic of it installed in the vehicle it came from. They are parting out the car on ebay with the ads listed as covering 94-99 land rover discovery and there's tons of other pics with the mirror mounted so I know it came from this car but i get that someone may have added it at some point in it's 25 years of life.
Strange thing is the wires come out of the back mirror and terminate into a male plug instead of having a female plug on the back of the mirror. That leads me to believe the mirror was designed to plug into the wiring harness of the car.
