Default What's this worth? 99 D1 69k

I've been looking for a D1 thinking it might be better for my uses as a 3rd vehicle than the 04 D2 I had a few years ago. I'm looking for something to use in the snow, haul my 3 dogs, take camping and do some moderate off-roading. Is the diff lock on a D1 better than the traction control on the D2? There are plenty of 00-02 D2s for sale in my area, not many D1s showing up for sale. Land Rover Discovery Discovery | eBay

For 69k miles it doesn't look in that great of condition, honestly. And there's no money shots. You needs pics of the rear door arches. Tell him to pull up the front carpet and snap some pics. It could be horrifying.

New York truck I would want to see underside pics and the floors and rear arches, like Fish said.

That dude seriously needs to clean his garage, he's no mechanic......
Hate it when the soak down with water prior to photographing.....
Fan belt is on wrong.....
His location is on Long Island, not too bad when it comes to rust....I would suggest what miles it has are city miles.
High end area, probably bought cheap & reselling..

I'm with Bill. I'd really need to drive it and really examine the underside. Frankly, $4K is an awful lot for a DI. Plus, unlike a DII, it's easy to substitute instrument binnacles. I'd want to see a FSH and Carfax for that kind of money.

I guess I should also mention that I bought a '94 DI with 82K on it for $500 about 6-7 years ago. It came with TONS of parts. The CEL was on and it idled poorly. A couple of O2 sensors and the truck ran like a champ. It lasted me 5 years before I parted it out. Almost no rust, the interior was mint and the paint was good. It looked like a new truck without having someone spray it with water to make it look shiny.

Thanks for the input. I'm going to keep looking since this one is 3.5 hrs away. This one is 4 hrs away, and the only other one I see worth a look. 1997 Land Rover Discovery I'd really like a white disco, but they seem pretty rare around here. I'm from Eastern PA, near Reading.

Love the green. Mine is same. aka: Willow Green. All else being equal I'd rather by a car that has been in Virginia over NY simply based on the fact there is less snow in VA. I do like that color red thought the paint must not be very good since they had to wet it down.

Remember, these cars have aluminum skins (except for the top of the roof and floor pans) so they tend to look nicer than they are. After 17 years all sorts of minor parts begin to degrade and that stuff can drive you nuts.
