Default Wheel drifting from side to side while driving...

OK, New issue. The wheels drift from side to side when you drive. I thought that the new shocks would take care of it, but alas that was not the case.

So I jacked up the truck again and this is what I found...

Obviously I need to fix this. Basically, what parts do I need to fix it and where its the best place to get them.

Tie rod ends, you can get all 4 w/grease fittings, for 70 bucks here http://www.dap-inc.com/kits/axlekit.shtml#Tie

Sweet thank you very much, that just saved me 78 bucks versus ordering the via roverparts! Less than half the price.

Check the wheel bearings, I think that much play can't be only a bad tie rod end.

will do, I don't have any play up or down, the rest of the wheel seems tight....

The steering damper is shot... again, looks to be the original.

Don't even start ordering till you tear the front end down to the swivels. When was the last time you serviced the diff, the swivel, cleaned and repacked/replaced your wheel bear, set the preload on the swivels both for the front and rear axles.
Looks like a lack of maintance is going to bite you.
My money is on wheel bearing and a possible CV joint.

Rear axles don't have swivels.
A bad CV isn't going to cause a loose wheel.

The tie rods ends are definitely bad.
If the wheel moves with no movement in the tie rod ends then you've got loose wheel bearings as well.
When you order the tie rod ends I'd get RTC3511 double lip hub seals and the paper drive flange gaskets, maybe a couple hub bearing lock washers just in case. The bearings you can get locally a lot cheaper.
You don't say which D1 it is. If the 97 then your swivel pins are probably ok, if the 96 they could be due for a rebuild and you'd want to get a rebuild kit as well.

hmm, those are listed as for defender 90, they fit? Why those over the standard ones, which I just installed on mine?

Because they are double lipped and work better keeping stuff in that's supposed to be in, and keeping stuff out that's supposed to be out, like water/mud.
