Where can I find a plastic box like this?
Hello Good People,
Where anyone know where I can get a plastic box like this with these measurements as close to 16in L X 7in D X 4in H?
I have been to HomeDepot, Lowes, Michaels, Target, and still nothing.

That is an oddball size and that bin looks like it was cut down. I found close to your original "misprinted?" size 4x8x6 at McMaster. I just ordered a few parts bins from them last week.
Anyway, try places like McMaster Carr, Grainger, Fastenal, etc and search storage tote/bin.
I would also check a local Commercial Restaurant Supply store.
Thank OverRover for the response.
Your correct in it does look like that bin has been cut down.
Here is another image posted from another site. I just need a base box/bin to start my Winter dash project. I want to mount my CB radio and a few small gauges to the dash without completely redesigning the wheel.
Thanks

Something that size/shape I probably would make it out of wood and cover it. You could give it a real factory look with minimal effort.
Here are some cool ideas > Car Consoles & 4WD Storage Drawers - Department of the Interior - overhead consoles, roof consoles, custom built consoles, 4WD interiors, storage systems, vehicle consoles, radio console, dashboard pod, four wheel drive.
Auhhhhhh...very nice!
That link you provided has some very nice pieces. If the boss knew I dropped that kind of coin on this project I'd be chased out of the house with a broom.
Looks like I will go the wood route.
Thanks for the insight as always OverRover!

Wood with an aluminum face panel would be the way I'd go. It would make a perfect panel to mount everything and give you easy access to reach the "box" mounting hardware. Plus making this from wood will be very easy to shape it to the dash. This is going to be a fun project.
For some ideas, this site has 8 different panel fronts with measurements for gauges, switches, CB. > https://www.raptor-engineering.co.uk...-dash-console/
REMEMBER to watch out for the broom!!!

That's an external CB speaker just mounted in the dash pod.
There are a ton of videos on Youtube showing how they work. I'm not much into CB radios, but I think it's a good idea. Unless I needed the dash panel real estate for something else, I'd find another place to mount the external speaker.

Couple of thoughts...
Would those units/boxes not cover the vent which takes in air from the cabin in "recirculation" mode?
I'd make the top of the box hinged with some sort of clasp so as to provide easy access without needing to go through the 'face'.
