Default Why don't we order from abroad?

Just wondering. I was checking out prices of bumpers overseas for our rovers and they seem to be a good bit cheaper. Is overseas shipping really that killer? I'm looking for a rear bumper and the only three I normally find are Tactical Rovers, Terrafirma, and RTE. Out of those the Tactical Rovers is the cheapest at $732 + shipping. Any insight guys?

Sometimes the exchange rate plus the shipping doesn't make it that good of a deal. There's also the fact that returns or problems would be a major PITA, I think. It seems like the prices on Rover parts in the States continues to climb, though, so ordering direct from the UK may happen more often.

Sometimes you can find a TJM bumper for sale, too.

I looked at as few items, once you convert the dollar to pound the price usually doubles

Your $732 bumper currently converts to $1255.90 usd

I think the $732 was USD for a Tactical Rovers bumper.
But yes, most parts from the UK will double from the listed price.

the price of shipping anything large has gone up 2-300% in the last couple of years.
I saw yesterday that MT is now make knock-down bumpers for shipping purposes.

I've ordered plenty from the UK... but usually small things. The largest/heaviest thing I've ever ordered was a swing away tire carrier for the 90... no where near the weight and size of a bumper. The shipping was quite a lot on the swing away, I'd think that for a bumper it would be too expensive to be worth it, unless you where shipping over a full container of stuff... like most of the rover stores do. I've never asked for a quote on a bumper though.... maybe soon.
