Widest tire size for lifted Dico
I have a 98 Disco with 3" lift. Currently have 2457516 BFG AT on stock wheels. The tires look like toothpicks with the lift. Want a tank look. What is the largest tire that will work with wider wheels. I was looking at Nitto 2857017 w 9" wheels Was told that was too big. Would spacers help?

Also, the Nitto 2857017 is for a 17" wheel, stock Rover wheels are 16" so you would need to swap wheels.
The first number(285/75/16) is the tire section width.
I run 315/75/16 KM2'S on stock alloy wheels with a 30mm spacer.

This sounds like a VERY bad idea on a vehicle that is always in AWD. That center diff is going to be working awfully hard to compensate.

Please tell me more about your 31575's on stock wheels Does that require a ton of mods?

That is a sweet ride! I can see your lift is much higher than mine. And my stock bumper will not work. I've got some decisions to make to go in the direction I want. But the good news is I now realize I may not need wider wheels. Kinda like the stock wheel look I just hate my skinny *** tires.

Without fender cutting Rovers look damn redneck with 32+ tires. From a technical point, steering, acceleration, mpg, uptravel, ride quality, reliability, cost will all be worse. A wide tire in particular will give worse traction on most surfaces. The one trick your pony will do is ride that big fat front tire over a bigger rock than your pathetic "small" tire buddies. However, your buddies instead drove around the big rock and don't give a **** about about your tires.
That said, there is no "widest" tire that will fit. It depends on the fender mods, how much steering you want to loose, and offset or spacers.
