I just saw an ad in CL for a 96 Disco with bad engine for $600 but it has a roof rack, brush guard and a rear ladder. Will these transfer directly to my 98?

Tried calling and then emailing my phone number. Noticed the ad says text only at the bottom so I had the wife fire up her cell phone and sent a text since I don't cell phone myself. The ad was posted 4 days ago - wish I'd seen it sooner, but that seems about par for me.

I saw a restored 1942 ****** Military jeep on Craig's list one day after it sold for $6500 - it was absolutely complete with all the tools and tags and a soft top and was the same age I am, only probably in better shape. I asked if the buyer might want a quick profit but the lady said the buyer was having it shipped to England. Another near miss.

The phone number is still busy at 8:30pm and no response to the text sent on my wife's phone. Not looking too good for "my" roof rack.

Get a google voice number and the hangouts add on for your computer and you can text then from your computer with no cell phone. You can also make phone calls over wifi.

 

I seldom need a cell phone and don't need another $30-$40-$50 a month bill; the DSL bill is bad enough. Hell, I seldom get a phone call unless I am answering for the wife. I dropped the land line a couple of years ago and use MagicJack for the home phone or Skype if I need to record the call; $35 a year for magicJack and I can call anywhere in the US or Canada. (the land line was long distance for anywhere farther than the next neighbor) Don't know if I can text on either one of those. I've never understood the thrill of text over voice anyhow - I must be an old fashioned fart because I do email often, but email is easier with a full sized keyboard and spell check.

 

Phone number still busy this morning, but I found that I can text via Skype; Tried that too or I think I did if I did it right. Still waiting to see.
