Default Wiring Hella 500FF

Digging through the forums and the rave manual are not yeilding any quick answers. I wanted to set them up on my high beams but alas cannot find the wire to tap into trigger the relay for the 500ff's. Anyone set their fog lights up this way? Thinking of just doing them via switch as well.

Default Ask and ye shall...

I have this exact setup (except diff. lights) and here ya go.

*** You MUST use the relay!!!*** that was my word of caution, otherwise you WILLLLLLLL burn up your light switch on the stalk.

On the back side of the relay the wiring goes thusly.

30 is your hot direct from battery (your relay should be fused)
87 is both lights (blue wires supplied with Hella lights if memory serves)
85 is your ground
86 is the switch wire for the relay.

on the back of your headlamp socket you will find two blue wires, one with a black tracer and the other with orange trace (maybe red... mine is faded a bit after 16 years). the cheesy little blue clip splices they supply are good in this case. Actually, I hate those things but they are aceptable in this application. clamp down on the blue/"orange" wire with another wire of your choosing which leads back to the relay at pin 86.

BANG! you're done.

That is exactly what I was looking for, thank you. However I ended up wiring it to the switch as I do not intend to have the rock shields off unless I am offroading in the dark or in a really dark long drive. Too much sand on the Colorado highways.
