WTH LR Stealership?

I cant see those being too much of an issue. But you never know...
Have you looked at many? Since hte elements get to them from underneath, they do tend to corrode badly. Best to pull your cover and see what yours look like.
I would be surprised if the dealership would install any parts that did not come from them.

Well it is what it is, a 16 yr old vehicle now.
A recall notice was sent to someone who owned the vehicle circa 2004/2005 (thats when the recall was launched). If the vehicle has not returned to the "Stealership" since 1998 it's not their faut that the recall had not been performed or missed.
There is also a chance that the fuel tank was replaced somewhere as part of a service action (SB173) before the recall came out(RB156).
If thats the case, the tank for the service action and the recall are the same and replacement is no longer necessary. Back to your complaint. "If" Land Rover isn't going to pay for all this extra work are you expecting the mechanic to do it for free?? Thats just not fair. It's Not His Vehicle. Next you'll be asking him to replace the rotten rear floor panel that fell apart while removing the rusted screws from the fuel pump access cover. It's just not going to happen..
