The G4 is not even close to the Camel Trophy. It's too bad because the CT is an amazing event. I would love to see a decked out DII pushing through South American jungles or African deserts. Oh well.

Cheers,

Pete

I agree with you Pete, Urban Panzer and I were talking about that the other day.
The G4 is a media event, its all about advertising. The mountain bikes, the kayaks, everything. Its still pretty cool, but not anywhere close to the Camel Trophy.

Let's campaign to revive CT.. Could it be done? There are a Lot of LR guys across all the forum and through friends/contacts.. I'm sure the crew over seas. All over the world for that matter, would love for the CT to come back.

It would be great to go on a CT, especially considering Land Rover pays for the trucks!

This is the US team's CT Disco from 1997 in retirement in
Morocco doing what it did best.

Any excuse to watch the video right?
CT used steel rims, not the NATO rims either, but solid rims. Yellow to match the truck of course.
1997 was the last year of any resemblance to the CT, they used factory rims and BFG A/T's, kayaks and mountains bikes started to come into play also.
Then I think 2000 was the first year of the G4, please somebody correct me if I am wrong but in 1999 they used the Freelander in the last CT.
