$600 for plugs and wires?!?!?!?
ORIGINAL: Jupiter Rover
They're including the plugs and wires which about 600 $ alone, if you buy there parts and there labor. Just did the 60k service but already did the plugs/wires and it was around 600.
Though, like others have said you can do A lot of the work by your self. Their going to charge a crap load for simple stuff like oil change, diff oil change, brake fluid, coolant, ect ect. They even charge a bunch for changing the air filter.... I would do the simple stuff and leave the dealer or an independent to do the stuff your not comfortable doing.

Yep. They charge a bunch for the actual wires and plugs and even more for labor. It is complete BS. They over price All their parts and their labor sucks, For the majority of dealerships.

Wow! $1300?
Our service shop next door (which is all Land Rover) charges about $600.00 for the 60K service, and that is with a labor rate of $125/hr.
If you can't do it yourself, or don't have a mechanic friend as Disco Mike was mentioning, find yourself a independent Land Rover shop. The dealers typically charge almost twice what a independent does. The challenge is finding a shop that has real Land Rover experience- not merely British car experience.

That can be a challenge too.... finding a shop that you can trust. There's quite a few places that will say "yeah, I can fix a rover" because they think it's like any other SUV.
My dealer experience has been good. I have yet to take the Disco in but when I took my Jag there, the shop manager was honest about everything.. like what it would cost, what things to hold off on (like fixing the cruise because the diagnostic charge alone would be $200) They had my Jag for one day and fixed the electric seatbelts, flushed the power steering, flushed the brakes, and did oil change for $517. I didn't think that was too bad. BTW; flushing the brakes and steering DOES make a difference!!!

I thought I was getting ripped off paying $170 plus shipping for my Magnecor wires and Platinum +4 plugs from LRRF. Now that I have the plugs and wires installed I realize they are worth every penny.
