Default 96 Disco I, a/c- heat unit removal

I'm trying to pull the a/c heater unit out of the dash. Does the radio have to come out also, and are there any screws from mid way to the top of the dash that need to be removed?
I have pulled 6 screws out of the bottom of the dash trim and the 4 screws around the a/c heater unit. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, the radio has to come out. As well as the cup holder, clock, ash tray, coin tray, switches. Remove the ***** off the climate control... remove the 2 screws behind them to take off the cover and then remove the 4 screws that hold in the unit.

Thanks for replying. I just found my shop manual; looks like I'm in for some FUN!
BTW, I know theres a tool to remove the radio (which I don't have) are there any homemade tricks to get it out?

If your radio is the same as my 97 all you need is a small hex key, 2mm if I recall correctly. Turn the screws counterclockwise until they won't turn anymore then pull the radio out.

It really isn't that difficult to pull the dash apart. I did it to install my new stereo with no problem.
