Default **$%&(#! Someone hit and ran on my Disco II

So today when going to take my car for its normal morning trip. I noticed a large chunk in the right corner of the front bumper. It didnt hit the fog lights or anything but the bumper is definetly ruined. I was wonderine if anyone else has had this happen, and how they went about getting it fixed, or any places that have affordable replacements. I highly doubt any salvage yards in the area will have one as nobody around has a Land Rover. Thanks

I would use this as a very good excuse to move up to the steel off road type bumper.

ARB, Rovertyme, Trek Outfitters, and more.

The best deal you'll find on a new aftermarket steel bumper is going to be from HiCountry Offroad. Their low profile front bumper starts at under $500 for the DII.

Do you know of any steel ones that do not change the overall look too much? I kind of like how the Disco looks with the plastic one, and I don't do much offroading.

Auto sports unlimited--I got a stock bumper for 200 in great condition...2 bolts can't be much easier. Sorry--yours is the front-- a few more bolts--but still not bad. Autosports unlimited probably has several in stock--they do alot of rover salvage.

Not in Chicago, are you? I am in Lincoln Park and had something similar two years ago, one of the "bumps" on the center (matte black) section (on the side of the front plate shattered). Hit and run. Had to replace the center section. Claimed mine on insurance and to replace that section was $750. People around here park by "feel"....

is it your bumper or the plastic trim that goes over it? the trim can be found on E-bay pretty reasonable. Might find the bumper on there too..

Let me see if i can get a picture for you. Its both the bumper, and also some of the blue body pieces that bumper cover seem to be missing to. I'm more worried about the bumper than the pieces. Would something like this fall under comprehensive or collision insurance. I'm afraid to call as I can't remember what I had set my deductibles to. BTW I'm from Illinois but not Chicago, Bob2003. I found exactly where my car was hit too. The pieces were still in the street.
