**Aftermarket radio**

Well I guess Silence wasn't the correct word to use there. With my 33' mud tires there def. isn't any silence. But as far as bypassing the amp goes, I havn't gotten under the seat to look yet. I was thinking, if the wires go from the radio to the amp, then the amp to the speakers.
Could I not just uplug both connectors and wire the two sets of wires together?
And if I can do this, are all the wires in these two harnesses the same colors?
I know I can just look for myself but i'm lazy and hoping someone else has already done this instead of running more wires

if you want a "plug and play" harness you need to go to crutchfield.com... they have the vehicle specific harnesses for pretty cheap... but because the rover is a "common ground" audio system you will also need to order a "pac oem2" that is the exact name... then all you do is match up the colors on the harnesses and plug on end into your head unit and the other into your factory rover harness... and there you have it, music... no messing with factory amps or rewiring of anything...

I don't know if they make a plug and play harness to "bypass" the amp (they make them for many vehicles but I don't think they do for these) they are generally pretty expensive anyways due to the amount of wire that is used (they still need to be run from the back of the deck to the amp). They do make a few different amp integration harness's though. They have ones that have RCA's attached to the plug (these require front and rear RCA outs on the back of the aftermarket radio) and then they have some amp integration harness's with the built in Line Level Converter (or you could use the PAC oem2 as mentioned above or many other options available such as a pretty cheap one from scosche, I usually suggest this one cause for the money it works well).
Disco XD is right on with the common ground pre-amp signals in these trucks so using the wiring from the back of the radio, to run high level to the amp will not work. It really isn't that bad to run the wires from the back of the radio to the amp, just get a cheap spool of 16 AWG or 18 AWG speaker wire from Walmart or wherever you shop and fold and cut it into 4 lengths (I usually go a few feet more than I think I will need) then wrap the run of wires every 6" to 12" with some electrical tape. If you have trouble routing the wires through the dash (or down to the center console depending on which way you chose to go) shop around Home depot or a few other stores for a long Zip tie (about 3' or so, you can usually buy them in singles) then tape your run of wires to it and feed it through. Once you unplug the amp harness and think you have identified the speaker output wires (usually twisted in pairs, but I suggest finding online info or the rave CD) you can use a AA battery to "pop" the speakers to determine which one is which, then use the same method behind the radio once you have connected these wires to the amp plug.
as for the fiberglass box I will put a link to the thread that tells about the build with progress pics and a few pics of the finished project here.
