Default *help* Intermittent no start

The other day at work when I went to leave at the end of the day my 2001 disco 2 would turn over fine but would never fire off. The next day it started fine. It has happened to more times since then and yesterday after having problems starting I drove about a mile and it shut of. After it shut off I notice the D for drive was flashing and the green M and S after I turned the key to the off position waited a few minutes it started back up. No lights on. My first guess is a fuel pump but I figured I would ask the experts on here first. Thanks in advance.

After reading another thread I am thinking it might be the crank positioning sensor. Any thoughts?

sound like ckps you can check it with a obd2 scanner, check the rpm while cranking 0 rpms = ckps.

Exactly what Drowss said. No signal = cps. At least it did on my intermittent no start. Changed it out and it has been fine for over a month now. I made a thread and he also linked me to another guy who cut a access door as I wound up doing the same. Thanks again...!!!

Well I just finished replacing the CPS. Took me about a hour and a half if I could of gotten to the plug a little easy would of been under a hour. It had obviously been replaced before because the plug that the new sensor had to snap into was not in its clip. I had to use a bunch I mean a bunch of lube to get my four arm to slide past the exhaust but I eventually got it all put back together. Crossing my fingers that the problem is fixed.

THANKS FOR EVERYONE'S HELP!!
