Hey guys, I am new to the forum and to land rovers and need some help. My wife has a 2002 land rover Discorvery II with 86k mile. It will start, but it takes a couple times of cranking it then it will fire up. the check engine light came on shortly after this began. I read the code and it says low fuel pressure. Is it the fuel pump or is there somthing else that could cause this problem has anyone had this problem. Any help would be great. Thanks Noah

 

I'm not positive, but I think fuel pumps are a common problem on these trucks. I know the one on my '03 has been replaced. http://roverlandparts.com has them for $225 for trucks with secondary air injection. Just looked it up, I think they're out of the ones for trucks without SAI though. Maybe you could check the electrical connections first to make sure they haven't just corroded and aren't getting enough power to run at full pressure. Fortunately, you can access the fuel pump from a panel in the floor on the right-hand side in the rear under the 3rd row seats. Check out the Rave online manual on that, but I'm pretty sure. http://www.landroverresource.com

First, what is the exact fault code numbers???????????
Get back to us with that before you start throwing money down the drain.
Second, I have never seen a low fuel pressure fault code, so I am thinking you are on the wrong page.
