02 Kalahari how to know if its real
There is a 2002 Kalahari "white" edition for sale in my area. The owner posted pictures of the vehicle online and one shows one of the special badges. I am curious as to any other ways of proving the authenticity of the vehicle. I have only ever seen yellow Kalahari special vehicles.
The Tangiers Orange trucks are not Kalahari, they're G4 edition.
I have seen Kalahari trucks in yellow and white- most commonly white.
At any rate, if it is a real Kalahari it should have a metal plate under the hood with date of production and a Special Vehicles ID number.
I've never heard of a Bonatti Gray Kalahari. And, for that matter, Bonatti Gray is not a light gray! It's dark, like pewter or graphite.

Found an article on cars.com that states the same color options: http://www.cars.com/land-rover/disco...&revlogtype=21
Man, and to add to the confusion.... I just looked up the paint codes and have yellow, white, and gray for 2002... wtf?
I guess you need to go with the svo plate and the window sticker. You could get the vin and run the warranty info on it. That should list what it is.

Disco_Fever is RIGHT. Only 350 Kalahari's were made and only made in 2002.
150 Yellow
100 White
100 Gray
Any Orange DII's you see will either be the TREK (which is similar to the Kalahari, but was made specifically for the TREK competitions) or G4 editions made for the G4 Challenge.
There will be a "Special Vehicles" badge on the rear gate to the lower right of the spare. The real kicker is the "Special Vehicles" ID plate riveted to the radiator shroud. If you have the VIN call the dealer and ask them to run it.
Ask me how I know
