02 sensor problems

Default 02 sensor problems

my check engine light was on so o had it checked for emissions. I dont recall the exact code but it was a something to do with one of the precat o2 sensors. i ordered two exact fit ones on ebay from global automotive, changed them out and reset my codes. within a couple of miles my check engine light came back on and now im reading codes p0135, p 0155, p0150, p 0174 and p 1174 which almost all deal with both the pre cat o2 sensors. Does anyone have any ideas what is going on or what i need to do to fix this problem. Any advise would be appreciated.

Could be a bad ground (electrical problem). Or a bad fuse.

The 135 and 155 codes are both heater circuits, usually its the sensors when you have these, but since theyre new, probably not. The fuse is the same one for most of the sensors, you you'd have a lot more codes if it were that, and the ground is through the ECM.

Check your connectors, make sure theyre clean, no oil inside, and fully connected.

could it be that i bought some cheap sensors or is there a chance the computer might take a little while to reconize the new sensors.

If it is because of 'cheap' sensors, time won't help you. The heater circuit check is based off of resistance, which won't come into spec over time, and the ECU will not change it's parameters for it being good.

The other faults may be related to the heater circuits not functioning correctly.

If you went from a fault for 1 sensor, and replaced both, and now have faults for both, it's either bad, or incompatible, sensors, or you didn't get them both plugged in all the way.

well the rover died on me today. it was starting to have a little rough idle then it just died. It would turn over but not start. after waiting about 30 minutes i tried again and it started just fine. drove it for about 5 minutes with no problems then it died again. it is currently being towed to the shop. any ideas

I'd say spring for the bosch sensors on Amazon.

I have no experience with the NTK sensors, but I swear by Bosch(I even use Bosch wiper blades).
It stalling is most likely the Crank sensor, and they usually fail when oil leaks onto them.

Have that replaced, and double check the O2 sensor connections.
