02 Smoking

So today i replaced my crankshaft censor and it went well but after a few seconds of running the engine smoke started coming out of the engine bay.
I shut it off and looked around. The smoke looked to be coming from the 02 right near the crankshaft censor. I looked at the cables and notice a white cable from the o2 censor connection was pulled out.
I must have yanked it some how.
1. Did I fry the o2 censor?
2. I'm trying to think about how to reconnect the cable back into that plastic connecter coming from the engine.
Can i insert a 1 inch of 15 gage copper wire and then solder the whiter cable on to that? I tried spinning the threads on the white wire to insert them back but thats almost impossible.
thanks!

The O2 is probably fine. Soldering should work, but then you'll want to insulate it. Maybe some liquid electrical tape.
As for the smoke, that's almost definitely just oil on your exhaust. It has a tendency to really grab on around the O2 sensors and will smoke like an old steam train. Nothing to really worry about in my experience, just as long as you stay topped off with oil.
