Thay always say its for a "friend".
Signs that the oil pump is going south is a flickering oil light at warm idle, like at a stop light or in a drive thru.

Not always... My oil light has been acting funny and I wasted $1000 in replacing it and it's still on... Tomorrow, Rob @ SouthWest Rovers is going to replace rod and main bearings...

Any suggestions other than cam bearings???

Jonathan

Just curious but if LR is aware of this "design flaw" how come there's no service bulletin or recall on it? I work for BMW and if this had happened on a car or X3/5, they'd be all over it to keep the customers satisfied and avoida lawsuit.

And I would be expected to pay for LR's negligence? I better not end up having issues with mine LOL

Are you in the effected VIN range? And yes, for some reason we are expected to foot the bill. It's kind of like how they say Volvo's are the safest cars in the world.... they never leave the driveway!

03DiscoSE-They found out about the flaw while under Fords ownership, well Ford is all but bankrupt so they wouldnt cover anything. So to try and save themselves they sold LR to Tata Motors in India. It helped but they are still in trouble.
So now the big three get to share a 25 billlion dollar bailout ontop of the 700 billion that will be used to bailout Wall Street.

willrok13-Our Volvo leaves the driveway more than our Land Rover, not only is it one of the safest station wagons in the world, it also seats seven, gets low to mid 30's (mpg)on the expressway and it will give a 2007 5.7L Pontiac GTO a run for its money from zero to 60.
