LOL! Make sure once you get the Disco connect the warning lights with the horn. I guess the HSE has navigation and upgraded audio system. My 03 SE has the same mileage still runs good but leaks. Good luck though!

Thanks to everyone for the input and warnings. As it turns out, the Disco HSE7 I was looking at, photographed better than it looked in person. It was also originally from Illinois, and the frame was in pretty bad shape, not yet "soft" but without pulling the body off, sandblasting and recoating it wouldn't be long before it would be more closely related to jello.

I looked at several others, but in the end, the wife decided that she wanted another Outback Wagon. I picked up a high mileage 2005 Outback Limited for $3K, and after an additional $1500 in maintenance items, it's a pretty good car.

While I'm on the subject, I'm 6'4" tall with a 36" inseam, and the Subaru offers twice the leg room of my 99 Disco Series II.

I'm going to remove the stops in the tracks to hopefully gain a couple of inches of room in the Disco, because I don't like being that close to the steering wheel. I only mention this because every Disco I've looked at and driven has been the same way.

HSE7 is a real designation for the model level. I have an SE7 and that just indicates 7 seats, leather and 2 sun roofs. HSE version is called HSE7. I think all you get guaranteed additional on HSE7 is plood trim here and there and ACE. My SE7 has plood but no ACE...

I'm sure others will add their input but, HSE7 is real, and kinda cool.
