03 Disco Overheating in Hot Temps
It's averaging in Vegas from 106 daily. My temps are reaching 220 and sometimes 234 with the AC on. I kept driving with the AC off to get the temps down to lower 200's. I have an grey thermostat that is less than a year old. I replaced the radiator and checked and tried a few different clutch fans. No luck. I had a shop do a coolant swap. Didn't help. I had a coolant system pressure check. No leaks. Now am going to swap out the grey for a yellow thermostat and the hoses while I'm at it. Oh, new water pumper after the grey thermostat was installed. I don't what else to bring my temps down in a comfortable range.

Oh man, that's hot! And I don't mean in a good way! Two possibilities come to mind for me. A (big) air bubble in the system. Do a search on bleeding the system. In the past, I've eliminated these by topping up with coolant through the small bleed screw atop the "T" fitting on the top hose.
The other is a loose overflow tank cap. Unlikely, but if the system isn't pressurized, you'd risk boiling over, which would introduce air bubbles to the system.

Electric fan blowing on radiator?
Thermostat should be a Land Rover brand (not Moto Bad) 180F model. Will have to buy on line. Dealers don't usually carry it because it is for a Euro.
Water Wetter with just distilled water will cool a few degrees more.
All the extra coolers (tranny, oil if equipped) need to be clean and free of mud chiggerz.
The heater core in a D2 has hot water in it all the time. You may be able to bump down a few degrees in emergency with defrost or heat turned on.
I was able to use a higher pitched fan from a Blazer, their fan clutch screws on our water pump. Seemed like it helped my old D1. About $20 at boneyard,

Definitely switch to the TD5 thermo.
But also test your electric fans. Double check the RAVE for the conditions that turn on the fans, but as I recall if you have the truck 'warmed up' and parked, have somebody turn on the A/C and both electric fans should kick on.
I bet one or both don't work.

I would pull the connector off of the a/c compressor and drive around
with the A/C on.
That will force the front aux fan to be on.
The front AUX fan should turn on past 212 degrees F anyway.
Make sure the air flow is not blocked from the A/C condenser on back.
I bet it is blocked.
A new HD fan clutch should be installed also.

Thanks guys. the AC fan is work and work while the AC is on and at the right temps when the AC is off. My clutch fan works good, in all the clutch fans I found on this and discoweb forum. My stock pulled more air than those options than stock to me. It seems like I'm have problems at low temps for sure and sometimes street and hwy speeds. I have the low temp gray thermo installed. But I haven't tried to grade the truck back to help bleed the system. I will when I swap thermos. Electric fans will be my next project to look into as when I need the fan to spin faster than the engine at lower speeds.

This may be option to look at as well. I use this in my motorcycles and will try it in my D2 - I just ordered

Keep us posted. I am interested in doing the same after I replace my water pump and fan hub. May be a few months from now as my current attention is on finishing my off-road trailer modifications.
