A service record on a leased truck? I have never leased befor but I wouldent expect a well taken care of truck Y pay for the extra?!! This is my bigest consern! with this truck and others lol!
in your original post, you listed 2 trucks. One was described as a leased vehicle and one you said had no history. Usually leases and warranty requires dealer maintenance, if not some sort of records. I thought by your wording that the first one had records.

With a good deal, just replace the pump (housed in the front cover which should be under $700 new) and be happy. You could even afford to change the transfer case to an 04 and get CDL.

As stated before, you lose sunroofs and air suspension while getting the duragrain seats with an S. I don't have sunroofs, but don't miss the possibility of leaking...

Leased vehicles are not always well taken care of. I have known many people who do nothing for the life of the lease except put gas in it.
They change the oil and get it washed before they take it back. I used to work with a guy and he swore by leasing and doing just that. Every four years he got a brand new car and it cost him next to nothing to rent the car.
He checked the oil and would add if needed, but he always ran the cheapest gas and that was all the money he would spend until a week or so before turning it in.
So always remember, buyer beware.

Yes.
I do not know.
Take it to the dealer, tell them that you know about the TSB on the oil pump and see what they will do about it.

Hillarious. I'm glad there's room for comedy here.

If anyone is looking for a new Oil Pump for an '03 Discovery, I happen to have one to sell. I had the oil pump failure on my '03 that they originally thought that they could repair without replacing the whole engine. Unfortunately, a new engine did have to be ordered ($8000) and it included an oil pump.

So, I have a brand new oil pump on my hands that they only time used was when it was mounted for testing and then removed. The vehicle wasn't even driven with the pump. The water pump wasn't even attached yet.

If anyone is interested in buying this pump, feel free to e-mail me at: srbarney@shryan.com or replying to this post.
