my drivers side seat leather is shot. i have an opportunity to buy a passenger seat in mint condition. my question is: can i use the upper cusion part of a passenger seat and bolt it to my drivers seat bottom mount?

The upper covers have holes for the arm rest, they won't interchange.

 

If your lower seat is wiped out, then you can likely swap out the lower cushion and reuse your driver's seat back. The cushions are the same for either side. Check out RAVE for images and directions for disassembly. RAVE even shows you how to remove and replace the covers if you want to give it a try.
