Default 03 Discovery Key Fob flip, Upgrade (Valeo)

Well just for fun i took a couple pics of my key fob upgrade to the flip style on newer cars! I found this kit on ebay and its pretty nice! I really dislike the oval ball with a knife blade sticking out of the top style remote holder on the 03 keys but just lived ith it... I just found this flip style by same company that was on my key when I got it... Valeo? Anyway, i had my local hardware store cut it for $3 and i think i paid 15 for the fob...

Is it a key only? Or did you modify the electronic bits to fit inside as well? Love the way it looks

It came as a direct replacement and the internals from original remote go perfectly into it then just screw it together and your done! The only mod is the one the key cutter at hardware store does to the key blank... Basically it is everything you need entire blank and case and just replace your drop in circuit board and battery right in place no modds! Be careful when taking apart as it has a spring that can bounce out...

Here is what title on ebay add is... You can search for it... As a link will eventually not be useful here on forum for an out of date add..

I'm all over this one. I hate the original key. I keep hitting the buttons as I'm removing the key from the ignition. My wife's New Beetle has this type of key, and while it's a little bulky, it's not nearly as LONG as our keys.

EDIT: There are options, but I still like yours the best.

EDIT #2: Ordered same as yours...

EDIT #2: Ordered same as yours...
Hahaha yup! I didnt post the add because eventually it might move then it might would be hard to search for but maybe not! Lol this works good but is a little tricky installing... Not complicated, but the spring has to have tension on it when reassembling so i let the tab on spring fit into the notch on back and twisted the back until the was tension while key shaft is in open position and then screwed back down into place and make sure you screw in firmly and all seated well for a tight fit... Anyway, i figured it out on 2 nd try ( 5 minutes tops ) done!

Thank you for this. I was afraid it would be too large, but it's very similar to my Wife's VW key.
