Default 03 HSE7 Leak Leak Leak need help!

My wife bought an 03 HSE7 in 05. Since then we have had it in for numerours oil leaks(count 5) including the rear main seal. 3 months ago the pulled the heads and them remachined for flatness. Is this typical?

We have to bring it in again next week for the same thing. This car has leaked all over the place and after being "repaired" 2 weeks later yet another new leak pops up. At this point we are looking to retain a lawyer. It should not be that we have to constantly bring in a 4-5 year old vehicle for the same issues. Apparently this started happening prior to our purchase. Are there any recalls or TSB's addressing this or is this just my dumb luck???

Any input is greatly aprreciated.

First thing you need to do is get very specific as to what exactly is leaking are we can't be any help to you.
Did a dealer do the head gasket, if so any he replace are covered for 1 year.
By the way, are thes dripping leaks or just seapage?

The leaks are all over. It is always taken to the dealer to be fixed. The problem is not the specific leak it's that after it gets repaired another springs up within a month or so.... 5 times to the dealership in 2 years, several of those times it has had multiple oil leaks. All other maintenace and repairs have been by Landrover. I am getting tired of taking this thing in for oil leaks, not to mention other issues along the way(mostly standard stuff).

leaks are commonplace to most land rovers. i have owned 3 discoveries and a range rover from new and all4 vehicles leaked from the very first day in my garage. I brought the first disco SE7 back to the dealer and they explained that nothing was wrong and that leaks were customary. i admit i was angered at first, but then i came to understand this and dealt with it.

Most do have slow leaks. Mine has noticeable oil around the gaskets, but it's never enough to puddle -- even after sitting for a week or so.

It could be the block. This is unrelated to Land Rover, but a friend of mine cracked the original block on his 97 Camaro and had it replaced with a salvaged block. Unknown to him, his new block had been severely overheated in its previous life and as a result, distorted. This lead to a lot of issues regarding leakage.

Maybe you can take that and run with it, or someone else will chime in.

You still are not very specific with what exactly is leaking. Small leaks are not that big an issue. Rovers leak!!! No big deal. Check your oil every 250 miles and you should be fine. If you were more specific with what is leaking you would get a more specific answer.

So you need to pull out your old repair orders, see exactly what seals have been replaced, then go power scrub your engine to verify what is leaking then go see the dealer again. You have a one year warranty on any dealer repair and trust me you will need to take it upon yourself to start locating and getting these leaks fixed.

This leak turned out to be the rear main seal....
This is the second time, once at 40k and again now at 80k miles. I know these have a tendency to leak, but this is ridiculous.

Remachined head decks, oil pan x 3, pump once and rear main seal x 2.........

If I didn't have an exteded warranty I would have flipped out already. Still when I go to sale it they wll see all of the maintenance on CarFax...

Quit machining the heads or you will need to buy another set.
Have a shop check your oil pressure, it may be too high and blowing out your seals.
