Default 04 D2 questions!

i'm about to buy an 04 se or hse in the next few days, one week max. i have read the forums and i have an idea what to expect. my question goes to the new recent owners of a pre-owned d2's. did you regret buying? was it as good as you expected? i just want to know.
my choices was between a lex gx470 or a d2 04 hse/se. the d2 is half the price! so.. no brainer there. anyway, i'd like to hear from you guys. thanks!

the one i'm looking at is an 04 silver/grey se for 11k with 77k miles. awaiting service records.

If you like working on a vehicle, get one... I have a 03 dII with 62,855 on it and had really no issues for 10k in the last 1-1/2... I am now getting ready to replace head gaskets and possibly an oil pump/front plate... seems what I have learned about these vehicles here on the forum is they are great off road trucks but need a lot of TLC as well... GO FOR IT and join the Family...

You can get it for less than $11,000. Offer them $9,000.

Bid difference between the 2 vehicles, what are you planning to use the new truck for.
By the way I would never get rid of my 99 D2.

i just bought my 04 SE 2 weeks ago. i do not regret it at all. even though i have only driven it 120miles total.

spent 2 days at the driveline shop having the front shaft rebuilt. then another day having a sat radio put in. then this week the window regulator took a crap so i have not been driving it while i what for my new one from atlantic british to show this week and i can install it.

but the ride and the feel of driving it is terrific. really a great rig. i plan on buying some 16" steel wheels and a good set of off road tires soon. i love the look of the HSE wheels on the truck, but they will be awful off road.

you cant beat $50k rigs bought for $10k a few years after new

hahaahah.. 50k rig now 10k after couple of years. well, i think as soon as i get a chance to get the d2 i pretty much made a mental decision.

i snowboard a lot, and i'm very outdoors kinda guy. so i think i fit in this truck. work on it? i dunno we'll see. i'm in socal btw... so any shops you guys recommend here? so i can start building my raport? i'm in the socal los angeles valley area. anyway, thanks for all your input. keep it coming.

working on it so far has been pretty easy. it is not the most difficult of things that was ever put together.

i am not a skier or boarder but i do go trailing and snowshoeing along with taking my dog to the snow in the mountains. this is a great rig for that.

find a SOCAL rig if you can. mine came from L.A. and the guy are the driveline shop thought it was a local rig that never left a garage,,, haha i explained it came from L.A. and he laughed and said "oh! so you mean the thing has never seen dirt?" hahhaa

Price on the D2 will vary quite a bit depending on mileage & condition, ex. we have 2 04's 4 sale, one has 44K and is superclean, priced @ $13600, the other has 82K and is average, priced @ $9600. Depends what u are looking 4. I have had Range Rovers and Discos b4, but not the Lexus. The Lexus are nice, never owned one. But I have to say I would go w/ the Range Rover over the Disco, if price is not an issue. You will love it. They are great trucks. I believe the Lexus will havefewer repairs, but as fas as looks go, I would go w/ either the Range Rover or Discovery.I have included a pix of the one w/ 44K Good Luck, Frank
