04 Disco noises behind glove box
Hello to everyone. I have had my 04 for over a year but just registered into the forum here. So many
of your posts have been very helpful.
I have an on and off noise coming from my HVAC unit behind the glovebox. I can best
describe it as a kind of a bird whistling sound or an extended cricket kind of whistle (if
crickets could whistle...). I know, sounds like I already know what the problem is....problem
is...of course...it NEVER will make this sound while at the dealership. It will do it for about
an hour on an off on a day when I drive for two or three hours...but give the LR to the dealer
for the day and have them log 30 miles on it and not a peep. Any suggestions on what I can
suggest to them might be wrong. Anything they can test for ? It is about the most aggrevating
sound to have to endure. Though it has been in the 30s here I frequently just turn the whole
heating system off to get away from it.
Also, I know I can run 265/60/18 tires on my rig with no issues (other than the speedo for the most part).
Can I go up to 285/65/18 without rubbing issues? I only do a moderate amount of offroading. Nothing that
presses the wheel/axle travel too much.
Thanks in advance for any help you can be-
